Do Any of These Sound Familiar?
You are not alone in this, and the gap does not have to be permanent. A lasting solution is closer than you think.
What Happens When You Wait?
Bone Loss Begins Quickly:
The jawbone starts shrinking within months of a missing tooth.
Neighboring Teeth Start Shifting
Adjacent teeth drift toward the gap, disrupting your bite over time.
Treatment Gets More Complex
Bone loss may require additional procedures before an implant can be placed.
Costs Tend to Increase
The longer you wait, the more involved the solution typically becomes.
Daily Habits Quietly Change
Avoiding certain foods or sides of your mouth becomes the new normal.
Fewer Straightforward Options
Early action preserves the most predictable path to full restoration.
The sooner you act, the simpler and more straightforward the path to a permanent solution tends to be.
What Is a Single Tooth Dental Implant?
A single tooth dental implant (permanent tooth replacement) is a titanium post placed into the jawbone where a missing tooth once was. Once placed, it fuses naturally with the bone through a process called osseointegration (where titanium integrates with the jawbone), creating a stable, permanent foundation. A custom crown is then attached on top, designed to match the color, shape, and size of the surrounding teeth.
At College Hill Dental Group, single tooth implants are planned using Planmeca cone beam 3D imaging, which allows us to evaluate bone structure with precision and place each implant in exactly the right position. Patients in Easton, Bethlehem, Palmer Township, and throughout the Lehigh Valley area have relied on us to replace missing teeth with results that look, feel, and function like natural ones.

What to Expect With Your Single Tooth Implant
Consultation and 3D Imaging
Your first appointment includes a thorough evaluation of your oral health and cone beam 3D imaging that shows the exact condition of your jawbone. We design the ideal crown position first, then work backward to determine precise implant placement, and fabricate your surgical guide in-house from that plan. You will see everything on screen and leave with a clear picture of what to expect. Sedation options are also discussed at this stage.
Implant Placement
On treatment day, the area is fully numbed before we begin, and IV sedation is available for patients who want a deeply relaxed experience. The surgical guide ensures the implant is placed in exactly the right position, so the final crown fits as planned from day one. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the appointment feels. You will leave with a temporary restoration in place while healing begins.
Healing and Integration
Over the next several months, the implant fuses with your jawbone in a process that builds a strong, permanent foundation. We monitor your progress during this time. Most patients continue their normal routines throughout healing with only minor adjustments in the first few days.
Digital Design and Custom Crown
Once healing is confirmed, we take digital scans using our intraoral scanners. Your final crown is designed using our CAD/CAM system, custom-stained by Dr. Moghadam for a natural appearance, and milled right here in our Easton office. No lab wait, no gooey impressions.
Final Placement and Reveal
Your custom crown is bonded securely to the implant. We check your bite, make any minor adjustments, and you leave with a complete, permanent tooth. Most patients cannot stop looking at it in the mirror.

Recovery After Your Single Tooth Implant
First 24 to 48 Hours
Some mild soreness and swelling around the implant site is normal and expected. Most patients manage this comfortably with over-the-counter pain relief and soft foods. Resting and avoiding strenuous activity during this period supports the best start to healing.
First One to Two Weeks
Soreness fades quickly for most patients within the first several days. You can return to most normal activities within a day or two. Soft foods are recommended for the first week, and we will give you clear guidance on what to avoid and what to enjoy during this time.
Long-Term Healing
The implant continues to integrate with your jawbone over the following months. This phase is largely invisible to you as a patient. Check-ins with our team allow us to confirm everything is progressing well before your final crown is placed.
